iGIS/LNG – new gas year news
High-value business features have been added to iGIS/LNG in the course of 2017, and they were fully released on 1 October. The latest additions bring hard facts and analytics from a wide range of sources, including actual company operational data and on-the-fly satellite image analysis with daily train-level activity monitoring. These features explicitly address challenges now faced by LNG and energy operators, and a quick overview is given here.
iGIS/LNG usability is dramatically enhanced everywhere, for ships and sites, with key information readily available as pop-up simply by pointing the mouse. For example, ship past and projected sailing path is directly indicated on the globe, and LNG train output levels are given on-the-spot. In addition, the smart graphs and tables dynamically change to reflect the data point or series that the user is interested in. For example, in the graph of European LNG storage levels below, any storage levels, receipts and withdrawals can be shows for any and every terminal, and even seen with daily underground natural gas storage data.
Live reports now give LNG liquefaction plant volume breakdown for every named capacity holder and buyer. Monthly LNG (and pipeline gas) import and export data for all countries with matching to ship cargoes allow explicit price and counterparty analytics, which is valuable for trade evaluation, contract price reviews and competitive benchmarking. Additionally, for a number of countries, like the US, all cargoes since 2010 are integrated seamlessly into the analytics, with counterparties, volumes and prices.
Further, automatic aggregation of current liquefaction and regas plant status and 30-day forecasts into countries and market regions dramatically enhance and accelerate month-ahead planning, portfolio optimization and trading. The forecasting system is now completely integrated with daily port notifications, pipeline flows and storage levels.
For the realization of immediate trading opportunities, the European use-it-or-lose-it (UIOLI) slot availability is matched to every loaded LNG cargo at sea that has been identified as uncommitted. For other short-term cargo lifting opportunities, available candidate ships are also quickly identified.
